The new voice of the UK Wood Fuel and Heating sector
We are proud to launch the Wood Fuel and Heating Association (WFHA) which will represent organisations across the sector, including wood chip, log and wood pellet suppliers, system installers and maintenance companies, distributors, compliance and sector specialists, who together provide sustainable heating solutions to homes, businesses and communities across the UK, and ensure their interests are powerfully advocated across government, policy, regulation and effectively represented in the media.

WHY WE EXIST
Wood fuel heating provides sustainable, low-cost, low-carbon renewable heat to homes, businesses, and industries across the UK, supporting jobs, forestry, and rural economies. Our sector includes wood pellet, waste wood and wood chip suppliers, biomass boiler distribution, service installation and maintenance, and compliance specialists, yet has lacked a vocal, consistent, unified sector voice to champion our mutual interests.
As policy and regulation increasingly shape the future of heating, effective representation is essential. WFHA now exists to ensure the wood heat sector, and everyone working within it, has a voice.

Our mission: To unite and promote the UK wood heating and fuel community to raise standards, build confidence, and protect members’ interests.
The WFHA will robustly challenge false narratives and lazy assumptions and demonstrate that sustainable wood heating delivers real benefits for customers, communities, and the UK’s decarbonisation goals, and should be a leading technology in the decarbonisation matrix. By encouraging best practice, forging alliances with forestry, timber and adjacent industries, and supporting members with updates and insights, will strengthen both the industry and the people and places who rely upon it for affordable, resilient, low‑carbon heat.
